The summer pool party has leveled up in Las Vegas, and it’s an adults-only free-for-all at a nearly 1.5-acre complex that has DJs seven days a week. Welcome to the new Go Pool.

Flamingo Las Vegas, which also recently added buzzing restaurants Pinky’s By Vanderpump, Havana 1957 and Gordon Ramsay Burger, has gone all in on its makeover, and you’re invited (even if you’re not staying here). The resort’s biggest spectacle is now the Go Pool, which has undergone a $20 million transformation and wants to be the place for your daytime splashing, dancing, eating and drinking.

The Breakdown

The 21-and-over Go Pool area includes five pools in a colorful, tropical setting with pretty pastels and 90 palm trees among the 200 trees on-site. The main pool, covered by a big canopy, has a swim-up bar, TVs and a shallow wet deck with daybeds and couches in the water. For major party vibes, this pool is directly below the DJ booth

Even if you’re the kind of EDM head who can get heated debating the merits of Mau P vs. Deadmau5, you will appreciate the music here. As we learned on a recent visit, the Go Pool’s DJs know that playing the latest bangers by Dom Dolla and Fisher will get the crowd going at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday.

In addition to the main pool, there’s a grotto pool with a 50-foot-wide “rain curtain” waterfall. You can spend the afternoon at the grotto pool on an in-water bench as you look up at the DJ. For more intimate experiences where you can still very much hear the music, there’s a circular VIP pool with cabanas, daybeds and a waterfall that encourages photo moments. (The new Go Pool is clearly calibrated for social-media posts). A rectangular VIP pool—with its own water feature, of course—and a free-form VIP pool also allow for hangouts away from the throng at the main pool.

How to Get in

This is the nice and easy part at this complex that’s steps away from Flamingo’s wildlife habitat. (Stop and say hi to the flamingos on your way in or out to the pool.)  You don’t have to stay at the hotel or rent a cabana to visit. General admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are complimentary poolside lounge chairs.

Show up early and have breakfast at the pool if you want to secure a prime location. The Go Pool is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday-through-Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. If you want a more intimate experience, book a cabana or daybed at one of the VIP pools.

If you’re coming from another hotel, there’s easy access via the south entrance of Flamingo Las Vegas near the rideshare area.

What to Eat and Drink

As the servers here might tell you, this is a pool party and you’re on vacation, so let’s start with the drinks. The Flamingo Fizz with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, lychee liqueur, ruby red grapefruit syrup, lemon juice and club soda is a transportingly fruity and beachy concoction, and there’s also a Bloody Mary here that’s zingy in all the right ways. We recommend considering the large version of these cocktails because it’s like three drinks in one and you get to keep the souvenir cup—a bargain! There are also Flamingo Candy tequila shots, frozen drinks, craft beers and bottle service available, of course. A bottle of Vanderpump rosé is very much on-brand at Flamingo, which wants to offer guests lots of fun without charging day-club prices.

The value also extends to the food menu where reasonable prices extend from the seasonal melon and fresh berries with honey vanilla yogurt for breakfast to the generous portion of nachos (with your choice of beef birria or chicken tinga) that’s exactly what many people want to eat when they’re chilling poolside. If you’re here with a big crew, the nachos also come as a party platter. (We also like the platter of 12 cheeseburger sliders with fries. Get that and some oversized cocktails and you’ll be good to linger here for a while.
