Pre-launch Preparation: What to Expect
At Interstellar Arc, you’re not watching a show. You’re stepping inside it. This one-hour attraction puts you in the center of an epic space adventure, the likes of which you can’t even imagine. Guided by your VR headset, you’ll walk freely through a massive, custom-built virtual starship and into a future home for humanity, exploring and interacting with its environments in real time.
As you look around, you’ll be immersed in authentic space imagery that has been woven seamlessly into the experience, making you feel like a participant in an epic space journey instead of a spectator. It’s a never-before-seen mix of technology and storytelling using footage taken from NASA and the International Space Station. Through inspiration taken from classic space exploration films and real-life space missions, you’ll find yourself in a multi-sensory, awe-inspiring virtual reality environment.
Interstellar Arc is designed for everyone, from seasoned VR fans to those experiencing immersive technology for the first time. Guests ages 8 and up are welcome, and adults over 18 can supervise up to three younger participants. You can go alone, or in a group and you’ll move through the virtual world alongside other guests. Even in the VR environment, you’ll be able to see and identify people within your group, creating a shared adventure as much as an individual one. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes and see firsthand what it could be like to travel and live in space as you feel science fiction blend with real explorations in a way you’ll never forget.
Blast Off Into an Adventure Made for Everyone
Your journey begins at AREA15 as you board the Interstellar Arc spaceship. After boarding, you’ll seamlessly be transported 11.4 light years away to the exoplanet Arcadia as you travel 262 years into the future. You will safely awaken from cryosleep about an hour before reaching Arcadia, arriving in the orbiting city of Cosmopolis. You will then slowly rebuild your memory as you go exploring, piecing together why you left Earth and learning about what your future holds.
Equipped with tools from your innovative spacesuit, you’ll have the ability to find special items and complete achievements as you move through your virtual spaceship and Cosmopolis. You can even capture selfies and photos in VR as you become completely immersed into this unimaginable world.
Along with your fellow passengers, you’ll have help along the way in the form of the Diplomat: an artificial intelligence composed of the cumulative memories of previous space travelers. Often appearing as a blue fox, the Diplomat will guide you through the intergalactic odyssey.
