We already know that Vegas is the Wedding Capital of the World, but how did it come to deserve this illustrious title? Ease of access, price, versatility, attractions and activities... basically everything you could ever want in a destination wedding. It’s the only city where anyone can find their dream wedding. So, when it comes to tying the knot Las Vegas is clearly number one for a reason… well, actually, several reasons!
First Thing’s First, Logistics
Before you can lose yourself in nuptial bliss, you do actually need to get (and pay for) where you’re going. But thankfully, Las Vegas makes all that easy. Harry Reid International Airport has direct flights to over 110 U.S. cities and is ridiculously close (15 minutes) to most hotels and major attractions. So if you’re a last-minute packer or just want to relish the Vegas atmosphere a little longer, the proximity means you’ll have plenty of time before you head home. But if you miss your flight, no worries, there’s still tons left to do!
Talking dollars, Vegas has price-points that range from affordable to opulent. Even for an out-of-towner, flights are so cheap that you’d still be saving. A roundtrip ticket could cost as little as $50! Not bad considering you can use all that money you’re saving on flights for fun things to do in the city.
Options For Every Couple
Getting hitched at a chapel in Vegas is not only an inexpensive option—it’s also a classic one! A Little White Chapel is a historic landmark, and in the annals of wedding history, this place is major. Trust us, we’re the experts! Since it first opened, celebrities from Judy Garland to Michael Jordan have tied the knot in this very spot. Most recently, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner said their “I do’s,” in this charming locale! And if you’ve seen the “Sucker” music video, you know that’s a romance for the ages. So, get ready to drive off into a neon-dipped sunset with your freshly ringed-up bae in a bright pink Cadillac. (Yes, they actually have one!)
Alright, so maybe a pink Cadillac isn’t for everyone. If you’re feeling a little more alternative and less white chapel, you absolutely need to check out the Las Vegas Arts District. Not into white? Well, this area shows off every color in the rainbow with its artistic displays ranging from crisp geographic murals to classic graffiti. Incredible wedding photos? Check. The Las Vegas Arts District has a cool downtown vibe drenched in sunshine, perfect for the modern couple looking to really stand out.
What about outdoorsy but not urban? Well, the open desert sky is just a half-hour away. If you’re more interested in hiking for your bachelor/bachelorette and hosting a reception in the fresh air, then there’s plenty of outdoor options for you. Picture you and your partner standing side by side, reciting your vows with the stunning Red Rock Canyon surrounding you. Simply gorgeous! Plus, the before and after wedding activities are wild! From helicopter tours to ziplines, Las Vegas can satisfy even the most adventurous couples.
If ziplining down the aisle doesn’t appeal to you, how about an elegant resort wedding? Again, no problem. Las Vegas is home to some of the most prestigious hotels in the world, so even if you’re sure you want a classic, grand wedding, you still have the pick of the crop for venues. Whether you’re feeling magical at Mandalay Bay or playful at Paris Las Vegas, you can have the biggest ballroom wedding moments in about twenty different hotels with varying price-points. Plus, it means you can dance the night away and be just an elevator ride away from your newlywed room. For a completely unique (though equally convenient) option, there’s always the stunning
Keep Memory Alive Events Center! This unique wonder is a landmark of artistry having been designed by the world-renowned architect Frank Gehry and featuring a 75-foot ceiling with 199 windows—no two of which are the same size or shape. There is truly no other place in the world like this! Let alone one so centrally located to all Las Vegas’s other attractions! What better place is there to make some beautiful memories of the happiest day of your life?
Great For Guests
The entire downtown area is chock-full of different pre- and post-wedding activities. There are so many nearby options for, well, everything: restaurants, attractions, museums, spas, lounges... The list could go on! Suffice to say, consider your bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner, and honeymoon activities taken care of.
And the best part? All of this and more is within walking distance. Yes! You and your guests could actually walk to most of the major Vegas hotspots within about 30 minutes – well maybe 40 in heels. But seriously though, so many vastly different venues and endless options are all within minutes of each other for an infinite combination of completely different wedding experiences all right in downtown Las Vegas. We’re not saying you need to host multiple weddings at separate venues in one single day… but we are saying you definitely could.
So, no matter what kind of wedding you want or what’s going on before or after, Las Vegas has it all and then some.
