Las Vegas has long been awash in accolades for its world-class cuisine, cocktails and lodging. But many visitors overlook the city’s prominence among spa destinations. Along with much larger Los Angeles, Las Vegas leads all other North American destinations, including pampering hotspots such as Miami, and is home to eight Forbes 4- and 5-Star spas. But that’s just the tip of the wellness iceberg (which includes “ice caves and snow showers” alongside sauna and steam), with impressive newcomers and many standouts at varied price points. While most top spa spots limit travelers to the option in their resort, Las Vegas’ user-friendly geography lets you easily visit top spas on the Strip and beyond—no matter where you are staying.
But you can get a massage almost anywhere. What really sets Vegas spas apart is amazing extras, and you can spend hours before and after a treatment, soaking, sweating, breathing and just relaxing with a state-of-the-art array of spa facilities, some of which you will find no place else. Many offer day passes, so even those not having a treatment can enjoy serious relaxation. These mega-spas tend to be in the largest casino resorts, and if a massage, facial, trendy cold plunge or ultra-deep relaxation is on your vacation to-do list, here's where to find some of the top.
Embrace The Elements
The over-the-top Spa & Salon at Aria spans a stunning 80,000 square feet, all based on an elemental theme of salt, stone, earth, fire and water. In fact, it’s the largest Forbes 5-Star spa in the world. You can take advantage of incredible offerings, such as the Shio Salt Room, where curated sea salts are diffused in mist to deliver halotherapy, believed to remove toxins from the respiratory system and improve skin health; a relaxing fire lounge; and the first Japanese Ganbanyoku stone beds in the country—heated chaise lounges each carved from a single piece of rock. In addition, separate men’s and women’s areas have eucalyptus steam rooms and redwood saunas. Out-of-the-ordinary treatment offerings include special rooms for Ashiatsu, with overhead bars to support therapists as they walk on your back, and red-light therapy suites. After your treatment, you can chill at Las Vegas’ first co-ed balcony with an infinity-edge pool, just for spa-goers.
Get Wet
Canyon Ranch Spa & Fitness in the Venetian is one of the largest spas on earth, spanning a stunning 134,000 square feet. In addition to an ultra-well-equipped fitness center, it has an unrivalled hydrothermal facility with salt grotto, crystal steam room, ice igloo, experiential rain showers, waterfall deluge showers, herbal laconium and co-ed conservatory, plus expansive wet areas for men and women with steam rooms, saunas and hot and cold plunge pools. Canyon Ranch offers more than 150 different treatments in 90 treatment rooms, as well as private spa suites and cabanas.
Spa With A Show
The Strip’s newest resort, Fontainebleau Las Vegas did not waste any time opening the huge 55,000-square foot Lapis Spa & Wellness, which almost immediately after opening won World’s Best Casino Hotel Spa at the prestigious 2024 World Spa Awards. Named for the signature dark celestial blue color of the gemstone Lapis lazuli, the highlight is the Celestial Waters, an area devoted to hot and cold contrast therapy, with an array of vitality pools, 14-degree snow shower, steam rooms, herbal inhalation room, and halotherapy salt cave. A don’t-miss is their multisensory “Event Sauna,” which adds aromatherapy, audio and digital imagery, and a 15-minute theatrical “dance of the towel” conducted by the resident “saunameister.” Also unique is The Reboot Lounge, a special seating area devoted to shorter treatments for instant revitalization of the feet and legs, perfect after a long day of casino and Strip fun. Las Vegas guests who are not participating in a spa treatment can purchase a standalone 4-hour Celestial Waters admission.
Twice the Fun
Spa At Encore and Spa at Wynn Las Vegas Las Vegas: Wynn Las Vegas and Encore is one of the only places on earth where you can find two Forbes 5-Star spas under one roof, one on each side of the giant Wynn/Encore complex. The offerings at Spa At Encore and Spa at Wynn are similar, but the advantage is that one is always close to your room, and if there is not a treatment available at your desired time, you get a second chance without leaving the property. Both offer separate women’s and men’s areas with steam room, sauna, hot and cold plunge pools and experiential showers, while the Wynn spa has more focus on hydrotherapy treatments and Encore adds 14 outdoor garden suites. Both have full-service beauty salons, but the Wynn side also offers a classic men’s shave and barbershop outfitted by England’s Truefitt & Hill, in the Guinness World Records as world’s oldest barber.
Relaxing Value
One of the best spa values in the city is Spa at the LINQ, where both treatments and day passes can be had at accessible price points. But you do not have to skimp on facilities to get a good deal here, as the 15,000-square foot spa has extras such as a Himalayan salt cave, eucalyptus steam rooms and whirlpool baths, while LINQ was one of the first spas in the city to offer CBD treatments. There is also a full beauty salon and 24-hour fitness center.
