Spring in Your Step
Quickly becoming a tradition, ClexaCon gathers LGBTQ+ women and allies each April at Tropicana Las Vegas to promote positive representation of LGBTQ+ women in media, and content creators from all over come to be a part of the discussion. Join the convention in its fourth year, April 16-19, 2020.
For one week in May 2020, hundreds of transgendered women and men gather in Vegas from around the globe. Sin City Soirée, coordinated by WildSide, offers a place for people to shop, sightsee, eat and meet during one of the most distinguished trans events of the year.
Fun in the Sun
Take the party to the pool for Temptation Sundays at Luxor Hotel and Casino. The long-running, gay, weekly poolside dance party features new DJs each week, kicks off in May 2020, and runs through September.
Each summer, Golden Rainbow’s Annual Ribbon of Life unites some of Las Vegas’ best singers, dancers and entertainers in an over-the-top talent showcase. Celebrating its 34th year in June 2020, this one is sure to be a smash hit. And in July 2020, Las Vegas restaurants will once again partner with Golden Rainbow for the annual campaign “Dining Out for Life” benefiting HIV/AIDS organizations.
Fall for All
From bull riding to cattle roping, the rodeo thrives in Vegas. In late Sept. 2020, The Nevada Gay Rodeo Association’s Big Horn Rodeo will once again ride into Horseman’s Park, bringing with it all the typical rodeo favorites and camping events.
The biggest LGBTQ+ event of the year, Las Vegas PRIDE brings parades, festivals, parties and more, all centered around pride and diversity. Make a weekend of it in early-October 2020, don your best outfit and come celebrate Vegas-style. The 2019 celebration included Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Lisa Vanderpump as the parade grand marshal for the Downtown extravaganza. Don’t worry if you can’t make it in the fall, Las Vegas PRIDE offers festive events all year long.
Keep the fun of Las Vegas PRIDE going the following weekend with the 3rd annual Vegas Urban Pride. Celebrate with parties, fashion, entertainment, celebrities and a charity basketball game. Vegas Urban Pride offers a unique experience catered to the Urban Market with all urban entertainment and is known as the hottest urban LGBTQ+ destination event on the west coast.
On top of the annual happenings, there are many recurring events going on all year long. The return of LGBTQ+ friendly burger restaurant, Hamburger Mary’s, comes with many fun events including bingo, cabaret, signature drag shows and more.
Speaking of drag, some of the most beloved alumni from RuPaul’s Drag Race bring their fierce stage shows to Señor Frog’s Drag Brunch each week at Treasure Island Las Vegas. Catch up with the queens while partaking in a brunch buffet and bottomless mimosas.
And speaking of Ru Paul...those famous drag queens are taking over the Las Vegas Strip when RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! hits the stage at Flamingo Las Vegas in early 2020. The revue is everything you love about the TV show and then some.
For the full club experience, FreeZone Nightclub and Bar offers everything from karaoke to pool, while Piranha Nightclub boasts drag queen hosts and lively music on the state-of-the-art dance floor. Looking for something a bit lower key? Flex Cocktail Lounge, just a few miles off the Strip, has nightly live entertainment, drink specials and movie Mondays.
