August 26th marks the annual celebration of Women’s Equality Day. This historic day commemorates the right to vote for women, achieved through the efforts of revolutionary activists, and honors their achievements. Women have played, and continue to play, a major role in shaping Las Vegas into the vibrant, diverse, and dynamic place that it is today. They are an integral part of our community, and we invite you to celebrate by supporting these extraordinary female-owned businesses or female performers during your stay.

Restaurants

Las Vegas is the destination for world-renowned restaurants and kitchens run by women. The dining experiences they’ve created are rooted in their passions – for authenticity, for an escape from the mundane, for sharing the joy of experiencing other cultures and places.

One such eatery is Velveteen Rabbit, located in Downtown Las Vegas and owned by sisters Pamela and Christina Dylag. Artists Heather Hermann, Nancy Foster, and Siobhan crafted the dreamy atmosphere, and it features a music-themed cocktail menu.

International Smoke, located inside MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, is owned and operated by Chefs Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina. They have a distinctive interpretation of grilled and smoked meats, which they infuse with bold flavors and exotic spices, and complement with seasonal produce from around the world.

Owned by TV personality, designer, and restauranteur Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd, Vanderpump à Paris in Paris Las Vegas, is an ode to the City of Light. The lavish restaurant is furnished with Vanderpump and designer Nick Alain’s celebrated design line, Vanderpump Alain.

One of the most Instagrammable cafes in America according to Food Network, Café Lola is co-owned by enterprising friends Lin Jerome and Alexandra Lourdes. In 2015, the duo realized an unmet need for inspiring cafes, and today, there are several locations on and off the Strip.

Pioneers of sustainability initiatives, chefs, restaurant owners, and nonconformists Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger offer guests of Border Grill at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino an unforgettable dining experience. Regarded as one of the most dynamic Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas history, the award-winning chefs create consciously sourced, seasonal fare.

Enter Giada at The Cromwell Las Vegas, and delight in a banquet of mouthwatering sights, smells, and tastes. Owned and operated by celebrity chef and NY Times best-selling author Giada De Laurentiis, the menu, like De Laurentiis, is iconic – Italian with a California twist.

Bar Zazu in Resorts World Las Vegas serves playful tapas and charcuterie. On one wall is a series of captivating portraits containing the “Ladies of Zazu”, and each has a signature cocktail. Executive Chef Nicole Brisson runs the kitchen.

Shops

Offering everything from unforgettable shopping experiences, to education, and supplies for a more vibrant life, Las Vegas is home to innovative shops founded by women. They’re also examples of how women-owned businesses thrive in the Las Vegas community.

Take, for instance, LV Plant Collective. The owners, Carissa Beasley and wife Stephanie Rabun, share their love for plants with their community through their beautiful shop, its robust selection of inventory, and fun workshops.

Vegas’s first and only zero waste refill station (think laundry detergent and body wash free of synthetic ingredients) was established by Alexandra Hamilton and Brie Lujan. Minimal Market is inspired by the friends’ commitment to sustainable business practices and for protecting the desert valley.

Singer, actress, and business owner Rihanna opened the first brick-and-mortar shop for her trailblazing Savage x Fenty lingerie line, in Fashion Show Las Vegas. Conceptualized by Rihanna, the innovative shop features five rooms, each with a unique interactive experience and photo opportunities.
