Congratulations! You’re getting married and jetting off to Las Vegas for your big day. When your heart is in charge, it’s easy to get swept up in the romance of it all. You’re busy double-checking that the rings are safe or that you’ve got that spa day scheduled for extra glow-up. We’ve got you covered. Here are five things to consider when getting married in Las Vegas – add them to your Las Vegas wedding day checklist so you can celebrate without worry.

1. Don’t forget the marriage license.

Start by filling out the easy online application. Be sure that everything is spelled correctly and matches the identification that you’ll bring with you in person to the office. After the application is submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation number that you’ll need when you appear in person at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau. Don’t just wing it – the license office is different from the civil marriage office. Make sure you head to the right place and don’t forget to bring identification. Clark County has a step-by-step process for the legal aspects of your union. And make sure you have at least one witness, aside from the officiant, as that’s also required by law to get married in Las Vegas. You’ll need to bring your license with you wherever you choose to say, “I do.”

2. Don’t think you have to elope.

A Vegas wedding can be as indulgent and picture-book romantic as your imagination. Have that flower-draped formal event with a DJ who plays your song for the first dance. Get married under fairy lights on the pool deck at Red Rock Casino Resort Spa or in an intimate chapel with only your closest friends and family.

Las Vegas has an all-inclusive wedding package that’s perfect for you, whether it’s an opulent celebration at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas or a themed wedding that reflects your style. Goth, outer space, Elvis, the Eiffel Tower – it’s up to you.

3. Don’t miss the photo ops.

You look like a million dollars thanks to a styling session with a Las Vegas hair and makeup artist. Now, go get those glamour shots.

Book a photo session at The Neon Museum where you’ll pose in front of signs that are part of Vegas’ unique history. Or, for photos that’ll truly pop, drive out to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area for its gorgeous and striking red rock formations and surrounding desert landscape.

Alternatively, head to the Carousel Bar at Plaza Hotel & Casino for glittering lights and carousel horses in motion. Want something surreal, high contrast, edgy? There’s a mural that’s a perfect backdrop for you, your intended, and the entire wedding party. Find it in the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District.

For romantic on-Strip shots, head to Paris Las Vegas and capture your love in front of the replica Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Then head to The Venetian Resort Las Vegas for additional photos in front of the replica of the floating city’s Doge’s Palace, as you ride on a gondola, or capture the stunning blue water in the background.

Everyone’s game to light up your Instagram, sure. But hire a professional photographer; they’ll work with your look and the setting – whether it’s a candlelit chapel or the bright lights of the Strip – to capture memories that will last a lifetime.

4. Don’t forget to make it fun for everyone.

Let’s talk about your wedding party. Who made the trip to join you on your big day? Your brother and his kids? Send them to Adventuredome, an indoor theme park at Circus Circus Las Vegas where they’ll find fun and activities for kids of all ages. Your best friend from art school? Bellagio has its own Gallery of Fine Art. Your weekend adventure crew? Send them to The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower for an assortment of thrilling rides.

Helping your wedding party plan activities ensures they’ll have an incredible trip, but it also allows you to have quality time for just the two of you. Read our guide for additional activities for your weddings guests.

5. Don’t miss the Las Vegas of it all!
