You Can Buy What?
Everybody who comes to Las Vegas pretty much already knows that you can buy a bottle at a nightclub, a suite in a hotel, a dinner at a famous restaurant, a souvenir shot glass or front row tickets to a Cirque show. But with Vegas being the city it is, there has to be a whole slew of items that you didn’t even know existed for purchase. Which is why we’ve curated a list of 10 items you probably didn’t know you could buy in Las Vegas.
1. Mark Twain’s first edition of Huck Finn
At Bauman Rare Books in the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian / The Palazzo customers can view all kinds of first-edition books and documents. Complete in its collection is a first edition of Mark Twain’s Huck Finn and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. 3327 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89109
2. Buy wine in an IV bag
At Heart Attack Grill on Fremont Street, customers who order wine will get it served to them in an IV bag (with a straw, not a needle). We should probably also mention that shots come in a pill bottle and when you walk in, staff offer you a hospital gown. 450 Fremont Street, Las Vegas, 89101
3. Make the Fountains of Bellagio sing
Yes, we’ll admit, this is a little pricey considering it will cost you $250,000, but it would make a pretty good story to say you turned on the Bellagio fountains. Once the fountains are turned off, a gold box will be delivered to you at Hyde Bellagio nightclub. Inside the box will be a selection of songs to choose from and a red button. Once you pick a song, you can press the button to turn on the fountains. 3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89109
4. Get married on the High Roller
It seems that you can get married everywhere in Las Vegas, but to get married 550 feet in the air is a whole other experience. At the High Roller observation wheel at The LINQ, couples can tie the knot in their own private cabin. The ceremony, which consists of one complete rotation on the wheel, takes 30 minutes and couples are able to invite 40 of their closest friends and family. 3545 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Las Vegas, NV 89109
5. Art ’O’ Mat at The Cosmopolitan
The Art ’O’ Mat is a vending machine and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas offers six of within their hotel. The machine dispenses small pieces of art. Pieces will vary depending on the artist who created them and can be anything from a keychain to earrings, and even a mini-painting. 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Las Vegas, NV 89109
6. Ostrich feathers at Rainbow Feather Co.
An entire store that only sells feathers! Who would have thought this existed, but it does and, of course, it’s in Vegas. At Rainbow Feather Co. located in the Las Vegas arts district, shoppers can buy seven different types of bird feathers and/or feathered boas. They even refurbish old feathered costumes. 1036 S. Main St., Las Vegas, NV 89101
7. Lift ticket at Mount Charleston
It snows in Las Vegas? Well, not quite. It snows in Mount Charleston, which is about a 30-minute drive from the Strip. But it’s here where skiers and snowboarders can go to get their winter fix in this desert. 2755 Kyle Canyon Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89124
8. House at Gold Spike
At some bars, you can buy a table or a bottle. But at Gold Spike, you can buy a bottle and if you pay enough, you can rent the house it has in the back for a night. Not a bad option in the summer, considering it comes equipped with air-conditioning. 217 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89101
9. Dinosaur mannequin at Las Vegas Mannequin
Mannequins have to come from somewhere, right? Well, at Las Vegas Mannequin, you can buy your typical mannequin figure or you can buy a dinosaur mannequin. Guess it depends on what’s more appealing to your customers. 3900 W. Desert Inn Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89102
10. A lobster in The Lobster Zone
Did we mention that The Lobster Zone is a vending machine filled with lobsters? Yes, that’s right. And if you’re able to catch one, then Mickie Finnz Fish House & Bar will cook it for you. Neonopolis, 425 Fremont St., Las Vegas, NV 89101
