It wouldn’t be a citywide Las Vegas event if dozens of other events, parties, and perks didn’t spring up to bask in the glow and entertain attendees and locals. (It’s estimated that more than 400 events were held along the Strip for the 330,000 people who arrived here for Super Bowl LVIII, for instance.) This is the case with the Las Vegas Grand Prix, for instance, which last year lured 315,000 Formula One fans.

Las Vegas, as always, is ready. From over-the-top, once-in-a-lifetime wine dinners to ultimate race viewing, to more accessible race week experiences and entertainment, this is your insiders' guide.

Hit the track K1 Speed

Suit up, put your helmet on, and blow your fellow drivers away at outlandish speeds…of up to 45 mph. No, this is not the route that snakes through Las Vegas. It is the go-kart pop-up, K1 Speed, whose electric go-karts speed around tight corners and high-speed straights and will stay at Resorts World through the end of Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend. While you’re here, make your way to The Pit Stop, where you can hop on simulators and sample dishes from resort restaurants like Kusa Nori and Wally’s. It’s open to the public over F1 weekend and all ages are welcome.

Be a part of McLaren Formula 1 team

For last year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, automaker McLaren teamed up with O’Gara Coach to open an exclusive McLaren Experience Center right off the casino floor at Wynn Las Vegas. You can buy exclusive memorabilia here, some signed by drivers, and other merch. But you can also buy the cars—so expect a revolving display, since some of the showroom’s sales have been significant. They’ve included the McLaren W1 (the fastest road-legal McLaren), the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail that has appeared at the Las Vegas Concours, and the McLaren 765LT hypercar. If you’re not buying, you can race, at least virtually. There’s now a simulator room, where you can take some tips from on-site instructors, strap yourself into a full sim, and take the ride of your choice around a virtual track. A leader board tracks the fastest driver of the day.

A tribute to Chef Alon Shaya’s safta (grandmother in Hebrew) is one of Wynn’s latest culinary residencies.
