It's a SCREAM!

Trick or Treat? You can have them both in Las Vegas this Halloween season!

It's time to play dress up! It's time to be somebody else for just one weekend -- a congressman, a witch, a Playboy bunny, a fireman, a French Maid, Sarah Palin, an over-sized Smurf.  It's definitely about the costume but it's more about the party and the long weekend in Las Vegas.  So, take this opportunity to give yourself a break and party for three days in October for the best Halloween ever.

It's no wonder Halloween is such a spectacle here in Las Vegas.  Nevada was founded on October 31, 1864.  Las Vegas celebrates this day every year the only way it knows how – parties across the city.  Check out the annual Beaux Arts Ball at MGM Grand’s Studio 54.  From the barely-there scantily clad dancers to ghoulish men bursting from the seams, this event is not one for those who blush at the first sign of ‘exposure.’  The Hard Rock Hotel hosts the 2009 Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball.  For adults only, this annual event brings out the sexy side of Halloween!

Lake Las Vegas will host “Tricks and Treats” at the waterside get-away of Montelago Village featuring BMX pro athletes performing mind-boggling high-flyin’ tricks.  Village restaurants hand out treats to kids of all ages and a host of activities fill the village including a spooky haunted house, piñatas, Safe-Street candy walk, and games, raffles and vendors for everyone!

If you really want the pancakes scared out of you, there’s no shortage of haunted houses around the valley.    The Freakling Bros. put on a spectacular ghoul-fest that will leave you breathless. Inside Circus Circus Adventuredome, the entire indoor theme park becomes haunted and renamed “Frightdome,”  with a highlight this year featuring scenes from the hit movie SAW. No matter what direction you choose, be prepared for dead bodies, chain-saw wielding monsters, and dozens of zombies ready to make you scream like a 7-year old girl!

HalloweenLooking for freaks on Halloween?  There’s no shortage of second-looks when you witness “FREAKS” at O'sheas Casino.  FREAKS is the most surreal and bizarre talent show you'll ever see! Forget America’s Got Talent — these performers eat glass, skewer themselves and throw knives — begging the question, what do they do for an encore?

Dress like the MOB and get discounted tickets to The Sopranos Last Supper on Halloween Night.  Or rev up the kids and go trick or treating inside the pit at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Two great ways to get your sugar rush in Las Vegas this Halloween.

For an eerie outdoor thrill, head towards the small town of Glendale an hour north of Vegas.  Every year, a haunted corn maze is constructed.  Not only do you have to find your way through miles of corn rows in the middle of the night, you have to avoid being decapitated by monsters hiding deep within the corn husks.

New York-New York is treating its guests and fans of Halloween to an exciting new haunted house – "Zombie Precinct." The terrifying attraction is built along the resort's Brooklyn Bridge. The legend of the "Zombie Precinct" states that, while awaiting death in the electric chair, inmate #13 murmured this curse: "Tonight, on my final night alive, all who dwell in this prison will turn to darkness and live as creatures of the night forever!" At the exact moment of the execution, a huge bolt of lighting struck the prison. Everyone in the building was transformed into zombies. Since that night, New York-New York has closed the precinct to the public. But this Halloween, the gates to the precinct will be opened once again in hope of discovering the truth behind the legend. Fright-seekers are welcome to become official investigators and find the key to breaking the curse of Inmate #13. Just making it out of the precinct alive will be a challenge!

Speaking of eerie -- why not mark the happiest day of your life with a haunted wedding ceremony at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel.  You can book a Gothic, Graveyard, or Dracula Wedding on any Friday in October and receive a great Halloween discount.  What a great way to say “I Love You” in Las Vegas than with a bite from Dracula’s fangs!

Halloween is about having fun.  And Las Vegas is the place to make that happen.  With great nightlife, fabulous dining, award-winning shows and so many value-packed special offers in town, the only thing you won’t scream at this Halloween is the price!
