VEGAS SHOWS FEATURE UNIQUE VARIETY ACTS

Specialty acts bring back a taste of Vaudeville to Las Vegas revuew shows.

Lance Burton at Monte Carlo. Terry Fator at Mirage. Nathan Burton at Flamingo. Some of Las Vegas' most popular and memorable headline acts (including Siegfried and Roy) began their careers as specialty acts in revue shows. Take in a great headliner, or catch the stars of tomorrow in various showrooms across the Strip.

Planet Hollywood is home to "V - The Ultimate Variety Show," a twist on the usual revue. Here, the variety acts are the stars of the show. On any given night you can see magician Jason Byrne, the "world's fastest juggler Wally Eastwood, hand balancing duo Iuori and Nikoli, prop-comic Joe Trammel, and the indescribable comedic talent of Russ Merlin. Each has the star power to bring down the roof, and one day may just be Las Vegas' next headliner.

Bally's stage spectacular "Donn Arden's Jubilee!" is known for its dramatic sets, staging, and of course, world famous showgirls. But, the show also presents three top-talent specialty acts. Depending on what night you go, you can see flying gymnasts, strength and balancing acts, or vaudeville juggling acts. The Riviera takes their revue show to colder limits with "ICE - Direct from Russia." This unique variety show takes place on an ice rink and features traditional variety acts - on skates! It's difficult to juggle fire or balance on your head while on solid ground, but these performers do everything, while gliding on thin ice!

Cirque du Soleil has mastered the art of the variety act, and only the best of the best perform in their shows, but there are other shows up and down Las Vegas Boulevard that feature great specialty acts as well.
