Retro Vegas

Maybe you've seen Casino too many times. Or maybe you're just a cool cat. Whatever the reason, if you're looking to dig up the dirt on Vegas, the Las Vegas Mob Experience at the Tropicana is the place to start. This all-new attraction displays artifacts and memorabilia from the rise and fall of organized crime in Las Vegas.

If you want to think like a made man, you should eat like one too. For a strictly old-school experience, head to Piero's for linguini and clams. A scene from Casino was shot here - once the haunt of Tony "The Ant" Spilotro and sidekick "Fat Herbie" Blitzstein.

The signs of the times back in their day were neon - and the best of them are now on display! Take one of the daily tours offered at the Neon Boneyard  or just walk down Fremont Street, the heart of Downtown Las Vegas, and see the vintage signs courtesy of The Neon Museum.

While you're Downtown, check out Retro Vegas, the store. Located right on Main Street, this boutique specializes in mid-century pieces and blasts of art and antiques from Vegas' fabulous past. Then grab a bite of old-school Vegas at Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens or enjoy succulent prime rib from the breathtaking 24th-floor view of Binion's Ranch Steak House. This romantic penthouse restaurant is also rich in Las Vegas history.

Nothing says retro more than Donn Arden's Jubilee!, the classic stage spectacular at Bally's Las Vegas. The longest running revue in town, this show features the elegance and beauty of the iconic Las Vegas showgirl, and a sinking of the Titanic, nightly! If you're still thirsting for more Vegas history, it may be time for a cocktail. Swing by the Peppermill Fireside Lounge right on the Strip. Here, the flames dance off the mirrors, the drinks come in bowls and the only things that ever change are the cocktail waitresses. Or grab a carafe of wine and an amazing Italian meal amid classic Vegas memorabilia at Battista's Hole in the Wall.

Then take a walk down memory lane with Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show and see Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean come alive on stage. See the music that defined a generation. That's How to Vegas, baby.
