Vegas’ icy attractions will give you chills

Minus5 at Mandalay Bay No matter what the temperature is outside, Las Vegas keeps you cool all year-round.

Your drinks are sure to stay ice cold when you enjoy some libations at either Minus5 location in Las Vegas. Mandalay Place and Monte Carlo - each offers you the chance to bundle up and enjoy spirits that are kept at, well, minus 5 degrees Celsius. How often do you get to enjoy 30 minutes of arctic drinking and mingling while donning a heavy winter parka and fur-lined hat indoors? Enjoy frozen cocktails from ice glasses while surrounded by tons of ice, frozen bars, walls, statues, tables, chairs and lamps.

Dine at Red Square at Mandalay Bay and enjoy an impressive caviar selection, and such perestroika-inspired Russian and internationally influenced favorites, such as Siberian nachos, seared foie gras and duck confit, Strozapretti stroganof and Adzhika-spiced pork tenderloin. Before or after, however, you can really feel the chill: Experience the exclusive, private vodka vault and famous frozen ice bar featuring more than 200 frozen vodkas and infusions, martinis and Russian-inspired cocktails.

In the mood for some relaxing snow? You can enjoy that year-round at Qua Baths & Spa as you watch "snow" fall from the ceiling in the one-of-a-kind Arctic Ice Room. It's a spa experience you'll only get in Vegas and a great way to stay cool!

For those of you who really need to get some real snow-filled excitement, take a quick drive to the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort - downhill skiing and terrain parks are all the rage up there. You may not expect snow near Vegas, but this ski park had snow earlier than most West Coast ski resorts! Stay a day or two and spend the night at the scenic Resort on Mount Charleston or the Mt. Charleston Lodge! Skiing in Vegas - how's that for cool?

All three Hash House A Go Go locations in Vegas are offering Thanksgiving specials.    All three Hash House a Go Go locations -- inside Imperial Palace on the Strip, the Plaza Hotel downtown and the M Resort south of the Strip -- are featuring holiday specials, also beginning at 11 a.m. No matter where you are in Vegas this Thanksgiving, you're sure to find a terrific meal!

There's also plenty of exciting pro football action on Thanksgiving and you can catch every big play at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, where the theater is converted to Football Central, or the split-level MGM Grand sportsbook complete with its own VIP booths.

Then, it's on to Black Friday, and some holiday bargains. With so many shopping options in Las Vegas, you're sure to find something for everyone on your list this holiday season.

Start at Town Square Las Vegas with its 150 shops and specialty stores, or head downtown to Las Vegas Premium Outlets North. Great deals are in store everywhere you look!

Head south this winter – south of the Las Vegas Strip!

Everybody knows about the excitement up and down the Las Vegas Strip, but did you know that there's plenty to see at the south end of famous Las Vegas Boulevard.

If you like shopping, you'll find great deals at more than 140 stores at Las Vegas Premium Outlets South. Or stroll through Town Square Las Vegas, an outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment center with a pedestrian-friendly street and walkways, an 18-screen movie theater and more than a dozen signature restaurants.

Grab your clubs and play a round at Bali Hai Golf Course. You'll be taken to a tropical island paradise and will see why Bali Hai has been recognized as one of the "Top 40 Resort Courses in America" by GolfWeek. Navigate through seven acres of water hazards and 4,000 trees. Or put in a quick nine at the Calloway Golf Center, with a spectacular view of departing planes!

There are some great hotels south of the Strip as well, including South Point and the M Resort. And if you really want to head south this winter, Primm Valley Resort is a great place to go for more shopping, dining and excitement.

Enjoy some southern Strip hospitality the next time you're in Vegas!

It's always Happy Hour in Vegas!

There's a reason it's difficult to find clocks in our resorts. It's because in Vegas, no matter what time it is -- it's Happy Hour! Since it's Friday, and 5 o'clock somewhere, let's talk Happy Hour with some great places to down a cocktail in Vegas.

Hennessey's Tavern downtownBlue Martini at Town Square Las Vegas has drink specials from 4-8 p.m. every Friday and is a great place to kickstart your weekend of fun.

More great Vegas atmosphere is available at First Food & Bar inside The Palazzo, where you'll find the perfect food and beverage 'round the clock.

PBR Rock Bar & Grill and Cabo Wabo, both at Planet Hollywood, are great Happy Hour spots with awesome people-watching overlooking the Strip.

Downtown, there are plenty of places to enjoy a drink and some scenery. Check out the Happy Hour deals at Hennessey's Tavern on Fremont Street.  At the opposite end of the Strip, another place to enjoy a beverage with some unique surroundings is the Hostile Grape at M Resort, where you can choose from 160 wines in a contemporary "cellar."

Happy Hour in Vegas! Almost redundant, isn't it?

From the mountains to the lake, Las Vegas has everything for a great holiday weekend.

 Hoover Dam

Memorial Day is the official start to grilling season and sunny skies -- and in Las Vegas you can head to the great outdoors for both!  After a fun-filled evening in Las Vegas, plan some day trips to the national parks surrounding the city.  There's something for the adventurous and the not-so-adventurous and it's all just miles from the center of town; so pack up the station wagon - Clark Griswold style - and head to Vegas!

Head due West and spend the day at Red Rock National Conservation Area.  Just minutes from Red Rock Resort, The Suncoast, and JW Marriott, this outdoor wonderland spans 197,000 acres, has a 13-mile scenic loop drive, and over 30 miles of hiking trails. Picnic and grilling areas, cycling, hiking, climbing and horseback riding are available throughout!  Further North, Mt. Charleston Recreation Area is a hiker's paradise with towering pine trees, rivers, waterfalls, trails and the scenic Resort at Mt. Charleston and Mt. Charleston Lodge.

For the adrenaline-junkies, rent a dune buggy from a huge fleet of custom off road vehicles at Sun Buggy Fun Rentals.  Just miles from North Las Vegas, explore 15,000 acres of off-road desert terrain before heading back to Vegas where you can relax and rejuvenate in a world-class spa treatment.

If you're staying in the Southern part of the valley, near The M Resort, Fiesta Henderson, or the South Point Resort, it's just a short drive to the spectacular Hoover Dam.  This national historic spot offers a dramatic view of the Colorado River, Lake Mead Recreation Area and the new Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, towering 900ft above the canyon floor!  It opens in November for driving traffic, but the view today of construction is fascinating in itself.

Enjoy a relaxing day boating at Lake Mead or spend a tranquil day at the lakeside beach at Lake Las Vegas. Aston Montelago Village is a Mediterranean-inspired walking neighborhood with boutique stores, unique restaurants and the spectacular Lowes Lake Las Vegas Resort.  Aim for par on the Jack Nicklaus designed South Shore Golf Club or check out more than 60 top-rated championship golf courses city-wide.

You may not find Wally World here, but we do have Wally Eastwood - the world's fastest juggler. Catch him and the best variety acts in the country at "V The Ultimate Variety Show" at Planet Hollywood.  And for the best in entertainment, check out the current lineup of A-list shows, or enjoy a pre-show dinner at an award-winning restaurant.  It's all part of a spectacular Memorial Day Las Vegas weekend.  And now you can plan your trip and check rates and availability online and ensure you get the best deals in town!

P.S. (don't forget Aunt Edna, I hear she loves our buffets)
