Ring in the New Year in the place that knows how to party -- Las Vegas!

You're ready to say goodbye to 2014, so how about doing it in a place that knows a little something about throwing a party?

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga

New Year's Eve in Las Vegas is always a can't-miss experience, and this year is no exception. Start with the top entertainment you'll find anywhere on the planet, from Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga performing at The Cosmopolitan to Maroon 5 at Mandalay Bay to The Roots at Brooklyn Bowl.

Make sure you fuel up for the long night ahead. Kerry Simon's Carson Kitchen in downtown Las Vegas is celebrating the new year with a prix fixe menu from 5-10 p.m. The five-course meal includes an optional wine pairing. The restaurants at Wynn Las Vegas also have New Year's Eve specials throughout the day, including a dim sum brunch at Wing Lei and prix fixe five-course meals at The Country Club - A New American Steakhouse, Mizumi, Sinatra and more. Or head to Trevi inside the Forum Shops at Caesars and cap off your New Year's Eve meal with a festive champagne sorbetti.

Starting at 5 p.m. at Mandalay Bay, you can "Paint the Town Gold” into a golden wonderland, complete with elaborate gold-themed accents, party favors, delicious culinary selections and more. It's complimentary for guests, and throughout the resort, themed models will enhance the masquerade-style atmosphere.

When it's time for traditional New Year's revelry, count down to 2015 from 108 stories high at the Stratosphere's 108 Tower Party New Year's Eve Bash hosted by Pin Up headliner Claire Sinclair.

New Year's Eve

You can also celebrate on the Las Vegas Strip with America's Party, capped by a spectacular fireworks show emanating from the rooftops of resorts up and down Las Vegas Boulevard. Or head downtown to the Fremont Street Experience for the Downtown Countdown New Year's Eve Tribute Palooza party under the Viva Vision canopy, where the party lasts well beyond the midnight toasts.

Virtually every nightclub in town has its own New Year's party planned, with champagne at midnight and the world's top musical artists and DJs keeping the party rocking all night long.

Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea performs live at Drai's Nightclub at The Cromwell, Bruno Mars and Jermaine Dupri host at Tryst inside Wynn Las Vegas, Drake takes the stage at Marquee at The Cosmopolitan and Miguel is live at Hyde inside Bellagio. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg's "Snoopadelic Cabaret" is ushering in 2015 at TAO inside The Venetian.

Calvin Harris spins at Hakkasan inside MGM Grand, Steve Angello is ringing in the new year at LiFE, the new nightclub at SLS Las Vegas, Lil Jon performs at Surrender and Zedd is at the turntables at XS inside Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, and Pauly D is at the Hard Rock's Vanity

Ghostbar high atop the Palms, Lavo at Palazzo and Chateau at Paris Las Vegas also have special New Year's events planned. On the west side of town, you can enjoy live music and drink specials at Rocks Lounge inside Red Rock Resort.

If you're just looking to chill, what better place than either Minus-5 Ice Bar location - there's one inside Mandalay Place and at the Monte Carlo. Get your New Year's revelry started early as both locations will offer champagne toasts on the hour beginning at 11 a.m. - to help welcome the New Year all around the globe. Nothing wrong with a little worldwide celebration, is there?

BLVD

The BLVD Cocktail Co. at The LINQ will feature live music, a midnight toast, and a special package including a ride on the High Roller after 12:30 a.m. with its unparalleled views of Las Vegas. You can also party on the patio at Cabo Wabo Cantina at Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops and enjoy a tantalizing view of the fireworks display on the Las Vegas Strip.

Whether it's just taking in the fireworks or dancing the night away, there's only one place to welcome 2015 - Las Vegas!

Head downtown for that speakeasy feeling

Sure, prohibition hasn't been around for nearly a century, but it's still fun to feel like you're in an old-fashioned speakeasy, where what you know isn't nearly as important as who you know.

In Las Vegas, there are several watering holes that will give you that cool, speakeasy feeling. Start downtown in the Fremont East District at the The Laundry Room, the bar within a bar deep inside the Commonwealth at 6th and Fremont.

You can only get it through a hidden door with a reservation, which you can only make by texting the "secret" number. When you do gain entry, there are a few rules to obey. No pics, for example, so don't plan on any secret selfies. And you can only stay for two hours, so be sure to try any of the variety of concoctions they offer only in the Laundry Room. Specifically, the Ciao Bella (below at left: Italian Amaretto, Amaro Espresso-Coffee Liqueur, Cold-Pressed Coffee, Cream, Aromatic Bitters) and Pennsylvania Pumpkin Pie (below, center: Rye Whiskey, Amaretto, Pumpkin Puree, Fresh Orange Juice, Egg Whites).

Commonwealth drinks

Once your time is up, stick around the cool outdoor patio and enjoy live music on selected nights and other creative beverages, like the Mule In Heat (above right: Premium Vodka, Passion Fruit, Jalapeño, Fresh Lime and Ginger). If you find yourself with a case of the drunchiesLa Comida and Le Thai are right next door to satisfy your appetite.

Velveteen Rabbit

Another downtown locale with a retro feel is the Velveteen Rabbit on Main Street, where you'll find a casual and unpretentious atmosphere.

It's underground, baby, and only in Vegas. Tell 'em we sent ya.
